Visitors to the banks of the Tisa River near Senta were greeted by an unusual sight on Saturday morning. The beach was filled with employees of Tisza Automotive, who had arrived for the Tisza Summer Picnic event.
The company’s management organized this event with the aim of allowing TA employees to spend a day together in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. In other words, it was a day when, instead of work, the focus was on fun, relaxation, and getting to know each other better, accompanied by good food and drinks.
Already in the late morning hours, more than a thousand of our colleagues arrived, well aware of everything needed for a real picnic, equipped with pots, grills, and other cooking accessories for good fun. Teams tested their skills in cooking beef goulash and truly proved themselves, as the jury could declare the winners only after a detailed discussion.
However, the cooking competition was really just an excuse for gathering and socializing. An excellent atmosphere prevailed within the teams, music was playing, and our colleagues laughed, sang, and enjoyed themselves together. New friendships were also formed.
In addition to the cooking competition, there were many other entertaining activities. One of the most popular was the rodeo bull, which many tried to ride. However, in this popular Wild West sport, no one managed to defeat the bull on the plains of Vojvodina.
Live table football was also very popular, with competitions running throughout the entire day. The game is played similarly to table football, only with real people. In some matches, the excitement rivaled that of World Cup games.
Besides team competitions, there were also individual contests such as chess and arm wrestling, which also attracted a large number of participants. In addition, special mention should be made of the boat cruise on the Tisa, which was also very popular. A small boat transported participants along the river all day, giving them the opportunity to cool off in the heat.
Numerous photos and videos from the event shared by our colleagues on social media show that the goal set by the management was achieved. We all gathered on the banks of the Tisa—employees from the plants in Senta, Bečej, and Kikinda—and had a great time together.
According to the plans, in one year’s time another Tisza Summer Picnic will await us at the same location. Until then, here is the list of award winners to be recorded in the pages of history:
In the category of the most creative team, the jury’s special award went to HeaRTeAm – indirect office. The first prize was won by Hibridi (T107). The second prize was awarded to the following teams: Trio Fantastico (T210, T212, T214), Fijakeri (T204), and S.B.K. Magacin, while the third prize went to two teams: Pčele radilice (T398, T399) and Čula sam te i prvi put (T299).
In the category of team and skill games, Hibridi (T107) took first place, Fijakeri (T204) finished second, and Paklena družina (T321) secured third place.
The special award in the beef goulash cooking competition was won by the team Pod rotacijom (T102). The first prize went to Smotani (T115), second place to Balkan Ekpress (T208), and third place to HeaRTeAm – indirect office.
